PJs & Pearls - Original Handmade Linocut Print of a Badger

We created this print in the spirit of our earlier works like "Cosy Morning" and "Bear with Flair", and so we’ve continued to explore anthropomorphic animals in quiet contemplation.

In a moment of reflection, our old badger sits sipping coffee brewed in her trusted moka pot. She finally finds herself at peace, after once being trapped in a long, dark tunnel of creative block. This simple, grounding ritual helps her embrace vulnerability, and with each sip, the silence begins to lift. Dressed in soft pyjamas that offer comfort and wearing a string of pearls, symbols of her resilience and beauty forged from grit, just like her, the spark that once seemed lost starts to rekindle. It reminds her that even in stillness, strength and beauty can emerge from the softest moments.

This design is printed using multiple blocks, each carefully inked in different colours. We drew inspiration from our "Mac & Wellies" design, where the white of the paper highlights the raincoat. In this piece, the folds of the pyjamas are brought to life through the contrast of blue, white, and black, with the black ink as the key block that ties the image together.
