We created this print in the summer of 2024, having recently moved into a new studio, which we hope will give us more room to create, we are now surrounded by fields of wheat and birdsong. The loudest of all is the little wren.

The Latin name for one of Britain’s smallest birds, the wren, is troglodytes troglodytes. This name allegedly comes from their habit of exploring any hole or crevice in search of insects. While “troglodyte” has become synonymous with ignorance, it simply means “cave dweller.”

Printing Process

Ink is applied to each lino block and then with a glass Baren the print is hand burnished.

Each print is inked by hand and unique, so no two prints are the same. Due to this there can be small colour stains, as well as discrepancies in the ink application and printed image, which makes every print an absolute original.

In terms of colour, different display settings may cause colour deviations from the original colours.
