It was a slow start to summer of 2024. With one of the wettest Mays on record, we were inspired to create this crow, ready for the wet weather, with matching Wellington boots and a rain poncho. It reminds us of the ponchos you could get at Disney World when the heavens would open.

Since the design’s inception, the weather has improved, but we still wanted to share this multi-block print.

We aimed to convey the look of a plastic, almost transparent, and very thin waterproof material. Under the yellow, you can see areas where the white of the paper comes through, giving the impression of a plastic shine, as well as allowing the feathers to show through the transparency of the material.

Printing Process

Ink is applied to Japanese Vinyl and then with a Glass Baren the print is hand burnished.

Each print is inked by hand and unique, so no two prints are the same. Due to this there can be small colour stains, as well as discrepancies in the ink application and printed image, which makes every print an absolute original.

In terms of colour, different display settings may cause colour deviations from the original colours.
